Lamartine “Lam” Hardman IV

Lam Hardman has developed a tenured professional career spanning 30 years within the financial services industry. This time has afforded Lam the opportunity to experience a lot of industry change- bull markets, bear markets, technology enhancements, industry regulations and trends- and he has learned a lot from it. Like a lot of professions, there is no substitution for experience. The clientele Lam serves benefit from his ability to adapt to change within the context of a personal and professional environment.

Lam began his career in the “bullpen” area of a Merrill Lynch office. He later shifted towards a regional firm by the name of Interstate/Johnson Lane (IJL). The footprint of IJL was acquired multiple times and went from Wachovia Securities and ended up at Wells Fargo. With his entrepreneurial spirit and desire to run his own business, Lam moved to the independent platform in 2008. It was here that Lam assembled a team of support staff and advisors while serving as Branch Manager, business owner and Senior Financial Advisor. Utilizing his people skills, along with management talents that he learned from his father and grandfather, Harmony Grove Wealth Management grew and flourished following the “Great Recession” of 2007-2009.

In his pursuit of continuing to improve and adapt, Lam discovered the RIA (Registered Investment Advisery) space in 2015. This platform would allow Lam and his advisors to significantly expand the products and services offered to his clients. The private family office model was one Lam always wanted to replicate. So, in 2016 Lam moved his team to the RIA platform at Raymond James Financial. This transition opened a whole new world for those affiliated with Lam’s organization.

Alternative investments have been a part of Lam’s allocation process since the mid 1990’s. His team was in an enviable position to offer a wider variety of investments than a majority of their professional counterparts. Lam crossed paths with Brian Kasal while attending an RIA/Family Office conference in Mexico City during the summer of 2018. The two remained mutually connected and eventually merged forces in 2020. Brian charged Lam to assist in building out the alternative investment platform at FourStar Wealth Advisors. The combination of good people and a solid process have enabled FourStar to construct a highly regarded alternative investment platform that is continually enhanced.

Lam takes pride in his ability to connect with people on a personal level to better understand their financial and investment planning needs. He is blessed to have the resources and experience to serve clients during their financial journey. Investment minimums do not portray Lam’s personality, nor do high pressure sales tactics. Lam prefers to sit on the same side of the table with clients, to fully understand their situations and needs, while implementing a sound strategy and plan to implement.

As an Eagle Scout, Lam continues to support scouting and the values it represents. He graduated from the University of Georgia where he met his wife of 27 years. Catherine and Lam are the proud parents of Cate and Lam V. They attend the First United Methodist Church in Athens, Georgia. Lam has served on numerous civic boards and committees, and is an avid golfer, fly fisherman, sports fan and outdoorsman. He is dedicated to his church, family, friends, and clients.
