Joseph W. McVey

Joe joins FourStar with more than 46 years of investment experience, giving him a broad understanding of financial strategies and a diverse skill set. He began his career in the investment industry in 1980 at Wheat First Securities in Richmond, Virginia, followed by roles at Dean Witter Reynolds (now Morgan Stanley), and UBS Financial in 2019 before joining FourStar. Joe is an Investment Adviser Representative (IAR) who has developed a talent for helping his clients build financial confidence and long-term security through the prism of his decades-long experience.

Joe is no stranger to hard work. He began working at Krispy Kreme Doughnut Company at age 15 and remained there for nine years while working his way through college. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth Collage in 1979.

Joe is devoted to his family, including his two daughters and five grandchildren. He lives in the countryside west of Richmond, Virginia. Outside the office, Joe enjoys offering warm Southern hospitality to family and friends, taking spirited drives on country roads, and enjoying fine wine.
