On October 27, 2025, the Union League Club of Chicago hosted a luncheon and book discussion of the book “Clout City the Rise and Fall of the Chicago Political Machine” by historian Dominic Pacyga. This presentation was focused on the patronage system and the larger-than-life politicians and characters who took advantage of the system for decades.
